Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill, two busy “actors”, will star opposite one another in The Stoner, set up with Apatow Productions. According to an announcement in Hollywood, filming is expected to begin this April in Los Angeles, CA.
Commenting on the casting, co-director Judd Apatow stated: “Seth Rogen plays the lead character named Seth – a lazy lovable oaf who happened to be Jewish, while Jonah Hill playing as an over-weight stoner who fell in love with an online transgender live cam model played by Michael Cera. Unexpectedly, actor Craig Robinson will be replacing Paul Rudd to play ‘the black dude’ in the film.

Written by Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill, The Stoner follows a group of room-sharing jobless friends trying to make a Hollywood comedy movie with limited budget.
According to Seth Rogen, The Stoner has a very novel story line. “It is about an emotional journey of a bunch of average Americans to the world of Hollywood,” he said to The Wadiyan. “Off course, there will be a lot of sex, dick and vaginal jokes, purely for serious entertainment,” he added. “There is one hilarious scene in which me and Jonah fight each other with just our dick in hand, using it like a lightsaber.”
The Stoner, produced by Judd Apatow under the Apatow productions banner and distributed by Local pictures, expected to hit theatres this summer.
